Introduction.
In introduction is told about how Spanish people came to Mexico and how Indian Mexicans became poor and had to work very hard to survive. Also in introduction is written about author`s life and his books.

Chapter 1. The Scorpion Bite.
In this chapter is told about that Kino`s son was bitten by the scorpion. Kino is the head hero. The scorpion bite boy and he might die. Doctor in their country treated only rich people and Kino with his neighbors knew it but they nevertheless went to pursy doctor. Doctor`s servant said that doctor was very busy but in fact doctor didn`t want to help to moneyless people. Kino came back to his small house.

Chapter 2. Kino Finds The Pearl.
In this chapter is told about how Kino found the pearl. One morning he with his wife went to find the pearls. Kino did all necessary things and jumped into the ocean. He was young and strong and could stay under the water for two minutes. He carefully chose the oysters. He emerged from water and climbed into the canoe. Then he became opening all oysters. In one of them Kino and his wife found the pearl. Now they might pay the doctor.
